Why join the ADS?
Here’s the short answer.
- You will support the mission and activities of the ADS including; the Dahlia Classification System, research, trial gardens and seedling evaluation thus enabling new dahlias to be released, the network of dahlia shows and judges for the shows.
- You will be part of a community where you will learn about dahlias, meet fellow dahlia enthusiasts, and have fun!
- You will receive ADS publications – Bulletins (three per year), the Classification and Handbook of Dahlias, Judging Roster, Show Reports – and have access to a member’s only partition of the ADS website.

Available Memberships for May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2025.
Memberships are for May 1 through April 30 regardless of when you pay your dues. Membership dues should be paid by April 1st for the following year (to avoid missing publications). Memberships include three issues of the Bulletin of the American Dahlia Society – August 2024, December 2024, and April 2025 and the 2025 Classification and Handbook of Dahlias issued February 2025.

Support ADS Above and Beyond
The ADS encourages those who are financially able to renew at a higher level to help support ADS projects.
A Patron Membership is $75. A Benefactor Membership is $125. Patron and Benefactor Memberships are both family memberships.
We also welcome donations (tax deductible) to the ADS for dahlia research projects approved by the ADS Executive Committee. Such projects currently include an ADS-sponsored virus research project at Washington State University and a genome sequencing project.
The ADS is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible organization. All dues payments in excess of the basic membership & shipping costs, and all donations are deductible for income tax purposes.
