Ever go to New Mexico?
Does it sound like a fun trip?
The New Mexico Dahlia Society (NMDS) is ramping up their judging program and could use some help. If you are an Accredited or Senior Judge, and will be in/near New Mexico, contact the society and see how you can help.
The society has a particular need coming up. Here is a request from their President.
My name is Edith Iwan and I am the president of the New Mexico Dahlia Society. Our society is 16 years old and we have 30+ members, many new to growing dahlias. We have no certified dahlia judges. In the past, our Dahlia Show was judged by the local State Flower Show judges. We appreciate their help, but I want us to join the rest of the ADS community and have accredited judges at our show and to have our members become judges.
This year our show is on September 22. It is a one day show with about 150 entries and two panels of 3 judges. The show is held in a large hall shared by all of the Albuquerque Garden Clubs and Societies. We need two Senior Judges to lead the panels. Several of the prospective Dahlia Candidate Judges are already Garden Club judges.
New Mexico is called the Land Of Enchantment and is a wonderful place to visit and live. If you have never been here, consider this an invitation to get to know this part of the United States.
Thank you for any help you can offer.
Edith Iwan
